COVID19 Procedure – Oct 2020

I will be following Covid Secure safe practice guidelines laid down by the British Acupuncture Council.

All patients will be contacted the morning before treatment to be screened for Covid19. An example of the screening questions are attached below.

If you are in the clinically vulnerable / extremely vulnerable group please contact me before booking in so I can give you a call to discuss the risk vs benefit of acupuncture treatment at this particular time.

I won’t be able to see you if…

…there is a real risk that you are infected with Covid-19 or have been exposed to someone who is.

When you come to the clinic...

Please wait in the car park until I come out to collect you.

You will need to wear a face covering for the whole time that you are in the building. If you don’t have your own, the clinic will provide one for you. Examples of exceptions are if you have a breathing difficulty such as asthma, or you are lying face-down on the treatment couch.

You will be asked to use hand sanitiser gel when you enter.

Your temperature will be taken.

Please attend your appointment alone unless you need a carer or help with things like mobility.

Please take care to remain two meters away from anyone else in the building. I will only approach you within two meters only when necessary during the treatment itself.

I will always wear a face mask and will also wear a visor at times. I won’t wear gloves when taking your pulse or inserting needles. I will not be looking at tongues at this time. As before, there will be plenty of hand washing and hand sanitiser.

You are welcome to bring your own blankets/towel. We have wipe clean bolsters for knee/back support if required.
